Five days buys a day out of the city, and Bohemia is small enough that the good ones are an hour away.
Days one to three
As in the three-day plan.

Day four — out of the city
- Kutná Hora — about an hour by train. St Barbara’s Cathedral is the reason to go; the ossuary at Sedlec is the reason most people think they are going, and it is a separate site with its own ticket a bus ride away.
- Karlštejn — around forty minutes, then a walk up. The castle interior is guided-tour only and the tours sell out, so this is one to arrange rather than turn up for.
- Terezín — the fortress and the memorial. A serious day, not a sightseeing one.
Trains are run by České dráhy and are inexpensive. Check which Prague station your train leaves from — it is not always the main one.

Day five — the parts everyone misses
Spend it inside the city and off the tourist line: the Vinohrady and Žižkov districts, Letná for the view back over the river and the bridges, Kampa and the náplavka embankment, and a second look at Vyšehrad if the first was rushed.

What five days changes
It lets a wet day be a wet day. Keep the day trip flexible and spend it on the first clear morning.
